Quality Health Foundation Calls for Proposals
Grant-giving organization to fund eligible groups in 2012
EASTON, Md., Dec. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Quality Health Foundation, the mission arm of Quality Health Strategies, Inc., announces a call for applications for the 2012-2013 grant cycle.
QHF will award grants totaling $400,000 to eligible organizations that focus their services to help underserved and vulnerable populations gain access to quality health care services.
Over the last three years the Foundation has awarded $700,000 to 20 organizations. In 2011, $392,438 was given to twelve organizations in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Eligible projects should directly impact the health care of individuals and their communities. Applicants must be from Maryland or the District of Columbia, where QHS subsidiaries Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care and Delmarva Foundation of the District of Columbia are the respective quality improvement organizations for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
"We were pleased by the scope of projects we were able to fund in 2011 and are certain that efforts by the grant recipients will have a measurable impact on the access to and quality of health care," said Brenda Crabbs, Chair of QHF's Board of Directors. "This year we plan to award grants up to $50,000 to such recipients as faith-based groups, healthcare providers, educational institutions, community-based non-government organizations, and other organizations and individuals.
"We will prioritize funding based on a project's potential impact on health care improvement with measurable outcomes," she added.
Applications are available at www.qualityhealthfoundation.org, and will be accepted through January 18, 2012. Applicants will be notified of their award status in June 2012.
