Quality Health Foundation Announces Call for Proposals
Grant-Giving Organization to Provide Funding in 2015 to Eligible Groups
EASTON, Md., Nov. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Quality Health Foundation (QHF) announces a call for proposals for the 2015-16 grant period. QHF is the mission arm of Quality Health Strategies (QHS), a national not-for-profit organization committed to Creating Solutions to Transform Health. QHF will award grants to eligible organizations that work to improve health care through measurable outcome improvement projects. Since 2006, the Foundation has awarded over $3.25 million to 53 different organizations in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
QHF will fund various projects, including service demonstration programs producing high-impact results on health outcomes. Selected projects should directly impact individuals and their communities and the results should be exportable to other organizations. Applications for grants will be accepted from December 1, 2014 through January 31, 2015. Applicants will be notified of their award status in June 2015.
"We are embarking on a new era in healthcare accessibility. The projects we have funded are varied in scope, innovative in design, and positively impact health quality in ways that meet the new patient-centered model of care," said Molly Burgoyne, MD, Co-chair of QHF's Board of Directors. "We are particularly interested in non-profit organizations committed to improving communication, education, measurable outcomes, and chronic disease prevention. Programs dedicated to high standards of care are a priority."
Funding priorities for the 2015 grant cycle include:
- Improved treatment through the use of best practices
- Improved access to healthcare services
- Improved understanding of healthcare issues
- Improved measurable outcomes
QHS formed QHF in 2003 in an effort to improve health care in local communities. "Quality Health Strategies works across the nation to help improve the quality of health care people receive," said Fredia Wadley, MD, Chief Executive Officer of QHS. "QHF was established to give back to the communities we collaborate with in our quality improvement efforts and further our mission by providing services others have not funded. We are looking forward to seeing what types of projects will be proposed for funding in the 2015-2016 grant cycle."
