CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., March 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing (SFHR) and Quaker Chemical Corporation announced March 4 the renewal of their partnership for the 2014 IndyCar Series season.
As a partner of SFHR since 2012, Quaker Chemical supports the race team from a technical and engineering standpoint, working on product development to give the No. 67 SFHR car, driven by Josef Newgarden, an on-track advantage.
The engineering team from Quaker, along with SFHR's technical staff, will continue to develop technology designed to generate greases and lubricants specifically engineered to combat race conditions in the ultra-competitive IndyCar Series.
In its third year, the partnership will also allow Quaker to develop superior lubrication technology for use within its core industries.
"The partnership that we have developed with Quaker, beyond sponsorship, is a technical partnership that continues to build," SFHR co-owner Sarah Fisher said. "Both companies have learned from each other and in essence have taken each other to that next level. I am strongly encouraged, after working with Quaker for two years, that we can take this relationship to new heights in 2014."
Said Joe Berquist, Quaker Chemical vice president and managing director North America: "The technical development we have been able to do with the SFHR team has been a rare opportunity. The learning from the research has helped us with the development of our high-performance greases. This understanding has been transferable into applications where bearings are used— such as for steel rolling and heavy equipment. We will continue to apply this knowledge to create greases that will help our industrial customers further extend the life of their tools and equipment."
