Quaker Chemical Corporation, an official sponsor and technical partner of SFHR, will again back Newgarden's No. 67 SFHR Dallara/Honda/Firestone entry in Long Beach as the team looks to build on their fine performance at Barber Motorsports Park.
"We would like to extend a congratulations to the Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing team on their 9th place finish in Alabama,"Joe Berquist, Quaker VP and Managing Director North America, said. "We are very proud to be part of the team's success and are excited to continue to bring our technology and expertise to meet this season's challenges."
Dating back to 1975, the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is the longest running major street circuit held in North America and stands as the single largest event in the city of Long Beach and is often attended by well-known celebrities.
One person who is looking to be seen as a formidable competitor, is 22-year-old Newgarden, who has shown great speed, but experienced tough luck on two previous visits to Long Beach.
"Long Beach has always been one of my favorite tracks and definitely one of my favorite events of the year," Newgarden said. "The atmosphere is incredible and unlike any other race we go to. Unfortunately, we've had trouble converting great performances into great finishes at Long Beach, from almost winning the Indy Lights race in 2011 before making a small mistake and crashing with a big lead, to starting on the front row last year before the pole-sitter ran wide at the start and put us in the fence. We'll be looking for our luck to change this year as I kind of feel like Long Beach owes us one."
The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will air live on NBC Sports Network, Sunday, April 21 at 4 p.m. ET. IndyCar action will begin practice on Friday, April 19 at 1:30 p.m. ET and qualifying at 5:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 20.
