Quaker Celebrates National Oatmeal Day With First-Ever Quaker Oats Mobile
Celebrity Fitness Trainer Bob Harper Hits The Road Bringing A Super Grain Breakfast To Chicagoans
CHICAGO, Oct. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- National Oatmeal Day is Saturday, October 29th and Quaker Oats is celebrating with the first-ever Quaker Oats-Mobile tour, an on-the-go food truck created to deliver a delicious super grain breakfast of Instant Quaker Oatmeal for free throughout Chicago. Quaker Coach and celebrity fitness expert Bob Harper will ride shotgun as he helps dish out one of his favorite breakfasts to consumers and shares tips on how to get National Oatmeal Day – and every day – off to a great start.
The Quaker Oats-Mobile and Harper will be stopped at Navy Pier from 10:00am to 12:30pm to fuel up Chicago families. There will also be a stop at the Greater Chicago Food Depository where 9,000 servings of Instant Quaker Oatmeal will be donated to feed those in need.
"I'm excited to be touring Chicago in the Quaker Oats-Mobile to celebrate National Oatmeal Day and help everyone start their day in one of my favorite ways – with Quaker oatmeal," said Quaker Coach Bob Harper. "Quaker's been serving up delicious super grain oatmeal for more than 130 years – it's an easy and delicious route to take to make sure you're incorporating breakfast into your diet. So many people know it's the most important meal of the day, yet nearly half of Americans skip it.*"
Each super grain serving of Quaker oatmeal helps provide energy, fiber to fill you up and at least one serving of whole grains – a great first step towards meeting the recommended minimum of three daily servings of whole grains for overall good health. In addition to its many benefits, oatmeal contains soluble fiber that has been shown to help lower cholesterol when eaten daily as part of a heart-healthy diet.** The Quaker Oats-Mobile will offer Chicagoans three delicious flavors of Instant Quaker Oatmeal including Original, Maple & Brown Sugar and Apples & Cinnamon.
Those outside the Chicago area can join in the celebration too by logging onto www.NationalOatmealDay.com. There, consumers can "get in line," for the virtual Quaker Oats-Mobile and enter for a chance to win a month's worth of Quaker Instant Oatmeal as well as access fitness tips from Bob Harper, oatmeal recipes and more. There is no purchase necessary to enter. Follow @QuakerOats on Twitter to learn more about another promotion.
