Quadrant Homes Partners With Weyerhaeuser and World Vision in National Diaper Drive for Babies in Need
Volunteer Initiative Rallied Puget Sound Residents to Raise Diapers to Help Struggling Families in U.S. and Canada
BELLEVUE, Wash., May 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Recognizing a growing need in the community, Quadrant Homes partnered with Weyerhaeuser and World Vision in a national diaper drive to gather and donate diapers for babies in need across the U.S. and Canada. One third of American families struggle to afford this basic need, and while assistance programs help provide nutrition, many do not offer diapers as part of their service.
During the drive, area residents were invited to drop off their donation of unopened disposable diaper packages to the Quadrant Homes Design Studio in Bellevue, or any of the Quadrant Homes Community Sales offices throughout the Puget Sound region, and Quadrant matched the donations diaper for diaper. Combined with donations raised by Weyerhaeuser, the organizations gathered over 350,000 diapers and $12,000 in cash contributions. All the donations will be distributed through World Vision's storehouses across the country to help families most in need.
"We take community support very seriously here at Quadrant Homes, and we are excited to partner with Weyerhaeuser and World Vision on this important initiative," Quadrant Homes President Ken Krivanec said. "With families around the country in need, I am confident that our staff, and families around the Puget Sound, will step up to help."
Volunteerism and giving are part of the culture at Quadrant Homes, which partners with various non-profit organizations each year to provide support dollars and volunteer hours. As one of the largest single-family homebuilders in Washington state, Quadrant is committed to supporting the needs of its customers and the communities where it builds.
