Charitable Contributions Advisory Team will award $25,000 to support Quadrant communities
BELLEVUE, Wash., May 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Quadrant Homes and the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund are seeking to fund programs serving Quadrant Homes' communities in Skagit, Snohomish, King, Pierce, Kitsap and Thurston counties, donating a total of $25,000 in multiple grants to support programs in Quadrant communities. Application deadline is August 1, 2011.
This year, $10,000 in grants will go toward programs helping armed forces members and reservists, firefighters, law enforcement staff, veterans or their surviving families, who serve to protect our communities. Programs that focus on helping those who have been wounded or fallen while in active duty will be given special consideration, and individual grant applications should not exceed $5,000.
Quadrant is also offering a $15,000 direct-giving grant program for area food banks that support needy families in central Puget Sound. Individual grant applications should not exceed $2,500.
"It's important to us to be able to give back to our communities through grants that support our armed forces and law enforcement, as well as our local food banks," said Ken Krivanec, President of Quadrant Homes.
Applications can be found at http://www.weyerhaeuser.com/Sustainability/GivingFund/HowToApply. Proposals should be electronically submitted no later than August 1, 2011. Grant awards are expected to be made mid to late Fall 2011.
