Quadrant Homes Continues Its Commitment To Mountains To Sound Greenway With Company-Wide Volunteer Event
Quadrant Homes employees volunteered to provided Meadowbrook Farm in North Bend vital support in restoring native habitat
BELLEVUE, Wash., Aug. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In its third company-wide volunteer event with Mountains to Sound, Quadrant Homes employees joined forces on Friday, July 27, to help with an ongoing restoration and beautification project in the Greenway. Under the guidance of Mountains to Sound Greenway staff, Quadrant's team helped clear invasive plants that threaten to choke out native vegetation and reduce wildlife habitat in Meadowbrook Farm. Over the past two years, Quadrant employees have helped with similar projects in Lake Sammamish State Park and Three Forks Natural Area in Snoqualmie.
"One of Quadrant's core values is community involvement. Year after year, we return to the Greenway because we're passionate about protecting wildlife and waterways in the communities where we build," said Quadrant Homes president, Ken Krivanec. "We have worked together with Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust for three years now. They're an important partner with a shared goal of preserving natural spaces in the Puget Sound – and beyond."
Krivanec also serves on the board of the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust.
Meadowbrook Farm is a 460 acre historic farm near Quadrant's Aster Creek at Snoqualmie Ridge community. With views of Mt Si and Rattlesnake Mountain, Meadowbrook Farm is a sanctuary for native animals like beaver, elk, deer and bear, as well as various species of plants that are vital to the area's ecosystem.
Quadrant's partnership with the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust is a key component of Quadrant's Living Smart program. In addition to implementing industry leading sustainable building practices, the Living Smart program also seeks to preserve open spaces and educate homebuyers on sustainability.
