OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Oct. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- QTS, one of the nation's largest and fastest-growing providers of data center facilities and managed services, recently completed two Report on Compliance (ROC) reports per Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) 2.0 standards.

QTS completed the PCI ROC report for colocation services for the Atlanta-Metro and Richmond data center facilities in April 2013. QTS also completed the PCI ROC report for its fully managed, virtualized hosting solution for the Atlanta-Metro and Atlanta-Suwanee facilities as well as for colocation services for Suwanee on October 5, 2013. QTS is designated as a level two service provider per PCI DSS 2.0 standards, which define level two as any entity that stores or processes less than 300,000 credit card transactions. Additionally, QTS is registered on both Visa and Mastercard websites as a PCI DSS certified service provider.
The PCI DSS 2.0 standard is a rigorous and prescriptive set of approximately 250 requirements that service providers are required to meet. The PCI DSS standard is defined by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council, which was created to increase controls around cardholder data and to reduce fraud. The PCI DSS standard is an information security standard to ensure cardholder data is secure for all applications, systems and network infrastructure that impact the security of the cardholder data. QTS has implemented a complex network architecture to meet the robust PCI DSS policy, procedures and control requirements.
With virtualized hosting services continuing to grow, it is essential that companies select a service provider that adheres to strict compliance requirements. QTS has created a responsibility matrix by delineating customer and QTS responsibilities per the PCI DSS standards. This clear definition of responsibility allows customers to leverage QTS' compliant products and services.
"QTS is committed to being a leader in security and compliance and being transparent with our customers about what is required to maintain compliance," said James Reinhart, chief operating officer operations, QTS. "Completing our PCI compliance demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest level of protection."
