Qorvis Enhances Services For Defense Clients With New Hire
WASHINGTON, Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Qorvis Communications today announced that Heather Hopkins, an expert in a wide array of national security communications and legislative issues, has joined its team as a managing director.
Qorvis, one of the fastest-growing integrated communications agencies in the country, hired Hopkins for her exceptional background and skills working with senior leaders and decision makers on major foreign policy and defense issues. Her experience working with the executive and legislative branches will help many Qorvis clients navigate these waters.
"As Qorvis looks to enhance its services for defense clients, grow its government contracts and build a world-class legislative affairs practice, Heather brings tremendous capabilities in these critical areas," says Michael Petruzzello, Qorvis founder and managing partner. "Heather is going to be an outstanding member of our team and will help Qorvis bring the best Washington has to offer to its clients."
Hopkins most recently served as director, strategic communication for the United States Army in the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs at the Pentagon. Previously, she served in numerous positions throughout the eight-year administration of President George W. Bush, including acting as special assistant to the president and senior director for legislative affairs at the National Security Council in the White House. During her tenure at the State Department, Hopkins served two tours in Iraq, most recently for Ambassador Khalilzad as his senior adviser for communication at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
"Qorvis represents such a dynamic and diverse group of clients," Hopkins said. "I'm excited about the enormous opportunity to work on a wide range of issues and bring my experience from government to help our clients and grow the scope of the company, especially in the defense and legislative affairs arenas."
