Fenstermaker and Quinn were recognized for outstanding achievement and contributions to innovation in communications over the past year. The PR People Awards, sponsored by PR News, one of the industry's leading trade publications, has been a benchmark in the Public Relations field for the past 5 years, heralding winners from the most distinguished organizations around the country.
"I am proud that PR industry leaders are recognizing the performance of Grace and Shannon today," said Michael Petruzzello, Founder and President of Qorvis. "It is because of this talent that we continue to provide exceptional client service and capitalize on our expanding new business opportunities."
Each year, this award ceremony brings together more than 300 prominent communications professionals to celebrate the accomplishments of individuals who have demonstrated excellence and a passion for advancing the communications field. In their acceptance statements, Fenstermaker and Quinn were asked to address one essential question: What skill do communications professionals need to cultivate in 2019?
"The essential part of making positive change in America is not isolating yourself in your bubble," said Fenstermaker. "A necessary step in the communications field is to reach out to those we do not necessarily see eye-to-eye with. Our goals are achieved by engaging with all sectors of American society."
"In 2019, it will be critical to cultivate strategic thinking on how to meaningfully incorporate a diversity of voices and perspectives into client approaches and narratives," Quinn told the audience. "We're in a historic moment of rapid cultural evolution, and PR leaders should be creative, flexible and inclusive when planning who to include in the conversation."
