QNX Names Derek Kuhn Vice President of Sales and Marketing
OTTAWA, Ontario, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- QNX Software Systems Co. today announced the appointment of Derek Kuhn, P.Eng., as vice president of sales and marketing. In this role, Mr. Kuhn will build relationships with QNX customers and partners, and will develop strategies to increase market share and revenue growth in the company's core and emerging markets.
Before joining QNX, Mr. Kuhn held multiple roles at Alcatel-Lucent, most recently as vice president of emerging technology and media. He also served as vice president of strategy of the Americas region in the office of the CTO/CMO, where he led business and technology strategy across all of the company's product and service lines. While at Alcatel-Lucent, Mr. Kuhn received the company's 2010 CEO Award.
From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Kuhn served as chairman of the non-profit Broadband Content Delivery Forum, which acts as a liaison between service providers and content communities. During his tenure, he helped the organization double in size. He also served as a board member of the University of Southern California's Entertainment Technology Center in the School of Cinematic Arts from 2008 to 2010.
In 2005, Mr. Kuhn was granted a Top Forty Under 40 award by the Ottawa Business Journal.
