QinetiQ North America to Provide Transformational Architecture Services to the U.S. Army
MCLEAN, Va., June 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- QinetiQ North America announced today an award from the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) in Huntsville, Ala. The five-year, cost-plus-fixed-fee, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a maximum potential value of $39.8 million supports AMRDEC's Architecture Characterization Program (A2CP).
A2CP is a research and development (R&D) program that spans the spectrum of both basic and applied research including provisions for technology development and demonstration. Through A2CP, QinetiQ North America will support the AMRDEC Software Engineering Directorate (SED) by developing innovative tools and technologies that provide the analytical environment for characterizing and addressing critical issues associated with the ability of transformational architectures to provide a robust defense against various threats.

QinetiQ North America will perform architecture definition, concept development, scenario development, constructive simulation and analysis, training operations and deployment, virtual prototype development and exercises, physical prototype fabrication, and field experimentation in order to support AMRDEC transformational architecture initiatives. These initiatives include: air and missile defense, force protection, cyber technology integration, brigade combat team modernization, and extend to exercise and training support.
