QinetiQ North America to Provide Marines In-Theatre Logistics and Inventory Support
MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- QinetiQ North America today announced it was awarded a new task order by the Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) to provide logistics and inventory support to the Global Combat Support Systems -- Marine Corps (GCSS-MC). Specifically, QinetiQ North America will support the GCSS-MC program office with the integration and fielding of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) as a component of the fielded GCSS-MC enterprise system. QinetiQ North America will apply logistics applications expertise and systems management solutions to automate Total Force Integration tools for GCSS-MC. This work will enhance the material management, equipment accountability/visibility, and material readiness of serialized equipment, no matter its status or location in theatre.
The task order, known as the Global Combat Support Systems-Marine Corps, Operational Enhancement Fielding, was awarded under QinetiQ North America's Commercial Enterprise Omnibus Support Service (CEOss) contract. According to QinetiQ North America, the $13 million dollar task order's total value has already been funded at $4.3 million. The task order has a one-year base period of performance with two one-year options.
