QinetiQ North America Builds on GSA Experience to Win Contract with Public Buildings Service

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- QinetiQ North America announced today a contract award to support the General Services Administration (GSA) Public Buildings Service (PBS). QinetiQ North America will specifically address PBS' Occupancy and Revenue Management Applications (ORMA), key components of GSA's robust information technology (IT) platform to manage assets, provide accurate billing and forecasting information and ensure financial transparency and accountability. The contract has a one-year base period plus four option years and a maximum potential value of $41 million, depending on the levels of enhancement work the government chooses to perform.  

Under the contract, QinetiQ North America will help GSA PBS provide a superior workplace and consistently exceptional value for its federal customer agencies. This award builds on the company's expertise in working on the four applications already in place at GSA PBS: the Occupancy Agreement (OA) Tool, OA Billing, Rent Estimate, and Appraisal Data Systems. Specific services provided by QinetiQ North America under this new contract will include technical expertise in J2EE, .NET and database work, mission support and program management beginning with overall operations and maintenance.

According to Jill Thompson, executive vice president for QinetiQ North America, the new contract also unites work previously administered under four separate contracts, giving GSA PBS significant economies of scale, as well as leveraging QinetiQ North America's intimate understanding of the agency's mission and processes.

GSA PBS oversees an immense and diverse public real estate portfolio that includes more than 176 million square feet of federally owned space, and more than 175 million square feet in more than 8,600 privately leased facilities. GSA PBS is responsible for the workplaces of more than 1.1 million federal employees in more than 54 agencies. It has stewardship of more than 1,500 federally owned buildings, including more than 480 historic properties.
