Qfix Launches DoseMax™ SBRT Solution, a Revolution in Skin-Sparing
AVONDALE, Pa., Oct. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ASTRO Booth #426 -- Today, Qfix (www.Qfix.com), a world leader in radiotherapy patient positioning devices, announced it will launch the DoseMax™ SBRT Solution, a revolution in skin-sparing, at the 2015 annual meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), Oct. 18-21 at San Antonio's Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The DoseMax is specifically designed to maximize dose to the tumor while minimizing dose to the skin, making it the ideal solution for a range of radiotherapy indications from palliative treatment to stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). "What's revolutionary about the DoseMax is that it's the lowest attenuating, rigid couch top surface available," said Dan Coppens, CEO and Chief Technology Officer. "It reduces dose build up and enables high energy treatment beams to target tumors while minimizing skin dose."
At ASTRO Qfix will demonstrate how the DoseMax™ can be used in conjunction with the new radiolucent kVue™ Compression Bridges for SBRT treatments, improving workflow efficiencies by eliminating the need for additional devices. The DoseMax is available as a kVue™ Insert, for use in simulation on kVue™ CT and treatment on kVue™ Couch Top, and is now available as a standalone device for use with non-kVue CT simulation and treatment surfaces.
