Qeepsake Co-Founder, Jeff McNeil, Went Head-to-Head With the Sharks of "Shark Tank"
WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Qeepsake co-founder and father of five, Jeff McNeil, took his brainchild to the sharks of "Shark Tank" and stayed afloat. Jeff appeared on the October 29th episode of ABC's "Shark Tank" to gain more momentum for his growing online business seeking a capital investment of $350,000 and a stake in the company.
Qeepsake was created after the birth of his fourth child with wife and co-founder, Stephanie McNeil. He envisioned tracking every milestone in a baby book, but soon reality set in and with his technical knowledge, a new way of tracking his children was born. Jeff brought his concept of the world's first text message-based parenting journal before the sharks, sharing how a text question is received and answered and handed out sample books that can be created from the journals.
Investors or "sharks" as they're called, Kevin O'Leary and Chris Sacca, came to the table with dueling offers, providing the capital investment that was requested but wanting more equity in the Qeepsake brand. "I don't like your deal, and here's why," Jeff proclaimed to Kevin O'Leary, putting the heat on and gaining a second offer from Chris Sacca. Ultimately, Jeff turned down both offers as the sharks were unwilling to meet at a mutually-agreeable equity stake. "Being on Shark Tank was an amazing opportunity for Qeepsake! Even though a deal wasn't struck, I felt validated that the sharks understood the significance of the opportunity I put in front of them and, equally important, the American public got to learn about Qeepsake!", said Jeff McNeil.
Post- Shark Tank taping, Qeepsake has raised over $900,000 from a group of professional investors to fuel its product buildout and growth goals, and secured a partnership with a global parent-oriented brand.
