QBE Presents Dress for Success With $75,000 Grant
NEW YORK, Dec. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The QBE Divisional Foundation has awarded a $75,000 grant to Dress for Success Worldwide to support networking and career development efforts for the women it serves.
According to QBE President and Chief Executive Officer John Rumpler, the Dress for Success services fit well with the foundation mission. The foundation is dedicated to supporting vocational opportunities around the world through organizations that help people live more independently, successfully and productively. Dress for Success provides professional clothing, a support network and career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
The grant will be used to fund the agency's Professional Women's Group program and annual Success Summit for clients who have recently entered the workforce. "QBE wants to assist people from all walks of life so they not only can support themselves and their families, but also become the best they can be as individuals," he said.
Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for Success Worldwide, thanked QBE for the grant. "We may be most known for providing disadvantaged women with an interview suit, but unique programming like the Professional Women's Group truly helps women achieve economic independence," she said. "This donation will not just advance individual women, it will also help entire families and communities."
Dress for Success is one of 10 charities receiving grants from QBE in 2011. More than 200 charities providing vocational services in QBE's local communities were nominated and voted on by employees in 143 offices across the country.
