QBE North America appoints Steven D. Allen as Senior Vice President, General Aviation
NEW YORK, April 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- QBE North America, an operating division of QBE Group, today announced that Steven D. Allen has been promoted to Senior Vice President, General Aviation. In this role, Mr. Allen will be responsible for the continued development and execution of QBE North America's Aviation go-to-market strategy, while driving underwriting excellence, strong portfolio management, effective distribution and delivering a differentiated and specialized customer experience.
Mr. Allen joined QBE in 2015 as Vice President, Aviation Claims, overseeing all Aviation claims and litigation. In a short period of time, he built an industry-leading claims department and actively managed loss ratios by aggressively pursuing recovery, subrogation and salvage opportunities. He has been serving as the interim Senior Vice President, General Aviation, in addition to leading Aviation Claims since January 2016. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Allen will report to Jeff Grange, President, Specialty Insurance.

With a track record of success, Mr. Allen – an attorney – has more than 20 years of insurance, legal and management experience in the Aviation insurance arena. Over the past two decades, he held numerous leadership roles, including his most recent position before joining QBE in 2015 as Vice President, Complex Litigation and Airlines Manager at AIG Aerospace in Atlanta, GA.
Mr. Allen previously served as in-house counsel to several aviation-focused organizations and law firms. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served as a pilot for nearly a decade before his Honorable Discharge.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University, Waco; a Master of Arts from Webster University, Albuquerque; a Master of Business Administration from The University of New Mexico, Albuquerque; and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University, Dallas.
