QBE North America appoints Dennis Kearns as Senior Vice President, Underwriting Leader, for its Financial Institutions practice
NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- QBE North America today announced that Dennis Kearns, Senior Vice President, Underwriting Leader, will assume leadership of its Financial Institutions practice in addition to his existing role leading the Transactional Liability practice.
"In this role, Dennis will leverage his deep industry expertise and product innovation skills to provide expert solutions for large and complex risks backed by the strength and stability of QBE's balance sheet. Asset Management, which includes private equity and venture capital customers, is a core segment for QBE's Financial Institutions practice. Mr. Kearns' expanded responsibilities as the Financial Institutions practice leader include leadership of a highly specialized underwriting team providing customized offerings from "The Solution" suite for QBE's financial institutions clients.
Mr. Kearns has 20 years of insurance industry experience across product development, underwriting and claims management, with a strong focus on the professional liability segment. He joined QBE in late 2013 to design "The Solution" management liability and professional lines product suite, which serves public and private company, commercial errors & omissions and financial institutions segments. Last year, Mr. Kearns established QBE's Transactional Liability practice and led QBE's entry into the Representations & Warranties and Tax Insurance space.
Prior to joining QBE, he served in senior management roles with several global insurers and brokers, specializing in complex underwriting, coverage, and claims issues. Mr. Kearns received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Saint Peter's University and a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.
