NEW YORK, Oct. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- QBE North America has welcomed another well established industry executive to its leadership team, with Walter Grote joining the company as SVP, Commercial P&C on Friday October 2.
In this national role, Walter is responsible for leading QBE's commercial lines insurance business which includes small business to middle market segments, and delivering client-focused products and services that are consistent with QBE's strategy of being a leading specialist insurance and reinsurance company.
Walter began his career at Travelers where he spent 25 years in a range of commercial insurance roles including VP Business Insurance, and Chief Underwriting Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Middle Market and Commercial Accounts. He brings a proven track record of delivering profitable growth, underwriting excellence, transformational change and a deep commitment to fostering and developing industry partnerships. Walter joins QBE from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty where he was SVP and Zone Leader for the Midwest.

Walter holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing from the University of Richmond, and is based in the Chicago office.
