QBE announces grants to three Southern California charities
NEW YORK, July 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- QBE has awarded $10,000 grants to three Southern California organizations to support programs focused on education, skill development and basic needs.
According to QBE President and Chief Executive Officer John Rumpler, the grants are given to further the QBE Foundation's mission of supporting vocational opportunities and helping people live more independently, successfully and productively. "Without the assistance of these fantastic charities, people may not be able to make strides toward helping themselves," he said. "We are delighted our foundation grants will make a significant impact."
The organizations and the services the grants will support are:
- Community SeniorServ, Orange County – To support health and nutrition programs that improve the quality of life for older adults.
- John Tracy Clinic, Los Angeles and Long Beach – To support the clinic's early intervention and education services for young children with hearing loss so they may thrive in school and in life.
- Women Helping Women/Men2Work, Santa Ana – To help fund comprehensive employment support services to disadvantaged men, women and teens.
