Airline Gold Sponsor Of Qatari Career Fair Event in Washington, DC
WASHINGTON, Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Qatar Airways will be acting as a Gold Sponsor for the first ever Qatari Students Career Fair, to be held from November 1st-3rd at the Marriott Washington Wardman Park in Washington, DC. Hundreds of Qatari students from around the United States will have the opportunity to meet representatives, conduct interviews and discuss sponsorship opportunities with 11 different government institutions and Qatari companies, including Qatar Airways.
In attendance will be Guest of Honour, Ambassador Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al-Rumaihi, Qatari Ambassador to the United States; Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Higher Education of Qatar; Qatar Airways SVP Contracts and Procurement, Mohsen Alshayef.

The Qatar Airways Nationalisation Department, a division of the airline dedicated to the development of Qatari talent, will be marketing 23 different majors during the 2013 US Career Fair as well as Scholarship programs, Graduate Development Programme, Internship program and Aviation Management Programme and actual job interviews. The department will host airline-sponsored Qatari students from around the U.S. as well as graduate developees and new employees based in Doha to share their experiences as a Qatar Airways-sponsored student.

Currently, there are 733 Qatari students in the United States. 328 are sponsored by Qatar's Higher Education Institute, and 405 are self-financed.
Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 16 years of operations, currently flying a modern fleet of 127 aircraft to 133 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and The Americas.
In 2013, Qatar Airways has launched ten destinations to date – Gassim (Saudi Arabia), Najaf (Iraq), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Chicago (USA), Salalah (Oman), Basra (Iraq), Sulaymaniyah (Iraq), Chengdu (China), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Ta'if (Saudi Arabia) and Clark Manila International Airport (Philippines).
Over the next few months, the network will grow further with Sharjah, UAE (March 1, 2014), Dubai World Central, UAE (March 1, 2014), Philadelphia, USA (April 2, 2014) and Miami, USA (10 June 2014).
