Pyramid GNSS by Regulus Cyber Announced as a Winner of the Silver Award in Transportation Technology in the 2019 Edison Awards
NEW YORK, April 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Pyramid GNSS by Regulus Cyber has been named a Winner of the Silver Award in Transportation Technology in the 2019 Edison Awards. The Edison Awards, named after Thomas Alva Edison, recognizes and honors the world's best in innovators and innovations.
"The Edison Awards have recognized the sophistication of our technology and the important role it plays in an era where navigation is a crucial component of modern transportation and mobility system," says Yonatan Zur, CEO of Regulus Cyber. "Our technology creates safety and security for ADAS cars today and the need for additional protection is developing as we get closer towards autonomous vehicles entering the market."
The Regulus Pyramid GNSS technology is transformative for Global Navigation Satellite System users, allowing GNSS spoofing detection and mitigation for the transportation sector. Pyramid GNSS (GPS) is the first solution to protect from spoofing that is secure, affordable and implementable across industries. Regulus is offering a software stack installed on any GNSS receiver and also an IP core algorithm for the GNSS chip level. Any vehicle, ship or airplane guided by a GNSS system can be spoofed using open source software and a software defined radio (SDR) legally purchased online for under $300. A spoofer can generate and transmit fake GNSS signals that can be used by the vehicle's navigation system to calculate a false destination, directing the vehicle to an entirely different location, a potentially life-threatening hazard. The Pyramid GNSS solution can detect signals, keeping the vehicle safe from spoofing-attacks.
All nominations were reviewed by the Edison Awards Steering Committee and the final ballot sent to an independent judging panel. The judging panel was comprised of more than 3,000 professionals from the fields of product development, design, engineering, science, marketing and education, including professional organizations representing a wide variety of industries and disciplines.

About Regulus Cyber
Regulus Cyber is the first company to deal with smart-sensor security. From GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System - GPS) to LiDAR and Radar, smart-sensors are critical components across a wide range of applications like mobility and automotive, mobile, and critical infrastructure. Real-world attacks against these sensors is a growing concern; therefore, Regulus focuses on GNSS (GPS) security, a field that is very different from connected internet-based attacks. The company's first technology is the Pyramid GNSS (GPS), the first solution to detect and eliminate smart spoofing against GNSS receivers that is secure, affordable, and applicable to multiple industries. Regulus is developing a range of anti-spoofing technologies, from a fortified GNSS receiver to a software stack, relevant for any GNSS receiver as a firmware update and down to an IP core algorithm for the GNSS chip level. Founded in 2016, Regulus is based in Haifa, Israel and is backed by Sierra Ventures, Canaan Partners Israel, the Technion and F2 Capital. For more information, visit www.regulus.com.
