Pyramid Breweries Debuts Ditto Session IPA
Ditto Session IPA augments the beloved Pacific Northwest brewer's IPA collection
SEATTLE, Sept. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Pyramid Breweries today announced the newest addition to its IPA portfolio with Ditto Session IPA. Full of lush citrus and tropical fruit hop flavors and a subtle caramel malt backing, Ditto is brewed with repeatable delight in mind as it joins the ranks of its Pacific Northwest-style IPA brethren, Outburst and Thunderhead.
"Ditto is dry-hopped with two Pacific Northwest hop varieties, Amarillo and Calypso, and includes three kettle hops, Nugget, Delta and Chinook," said Head Brewer Ryan Pappe. "Beer aficionados will taste delicate malt notes infused into the brew with a blend of pale, caramel and wheat malts."
Earlier this year Brewers Association Economist Bart Watson identified sessionable style brews as a growing trend for 2016. Session IPAs are gaining in popularity amongst craft beer enthusiasts by featuring lower ABV for elongated drinkability without sacrificing a bold hop taste. Ditto is 4.5 percent ABV and 45 IBU.
"Pyramid's IPA collection enjoys a strong legacy of well-liked, hoppy brews," said General Manager Robert Rentsch. "With a diverse range of ales, each of our IPA brews features something exceptional and distinctive for the hop lover. Ditto is unique to the line-up with its low-alcohol, high-flavor profile."
Ditto Session IPA is available now at grocers, restaurants, bars and pubs throughout Washington and Oregon. The brew is available in 22 oz. bottles and 12 oz. six-pack carriers as well as a part of the company's IPA Collection Variety Pack.
