The 2013 DRI International Awards of Excellence recognize individuals and organizations who have achieved a certain level of knowledge related to continuity management, technology recovery and crisis management. DRI's Consultant of the Year award is given to a professional who excels in the field of business continuity. Among the factors considered were the use of imaginative ideas to resolve problems, resourcefulness and innovation in the actual techniques used, the initiation of a business continuity culture in all the organizations worked with, and creative ideas on future developments in business continuity planning.
"We congratulate Neil on this recognition of Consultant of the Year by DRI," said Ron Kinghorn, principal, PwC. "With a deep focus on risk resilience and business continuity, PwC is committed to helping organizations navigate today's rapidly evolving business landscape and the ongoing risks of doing business. Our team is dedicated to helping companies find the right strategies to reduce the impact of business disruptions during some of their most crucial and difficult times."
Kaufman has over 20 years of management consulting experience, specializing in enterprise and operational risk and crisis communications across financial services, technology, retail and manufacturing industries. In his role with PwC, he helps organizations assess risk and pre-plan for incidents that could impact their viability and sustainability. Focused on business continuity, IT disaster recovery management, risk and compliance, and operational risk, Kaufman's responsibilities include the creation of standards and training materials, strategy design sessions, plan design, training, testing, and maintenance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark University and an MBA from DePaul University. He is also a Certified Business Continuity Planner (DRI International).
