NEW YORK, Oct. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced the appointment of John W. Stadtler as the leader of the firm's U.S. Financial Services Industry Practice. Stadtler has served PwC clients domestically and internationally for the past 26 years. In his new role, Stadtler will continue to oversee large engagements while steering the direction of the banking, insurance and asset management practices, comprised of more than 500 partners throughout the U.S. He will also be actively involved in PwC's west cluster (North and South America) as well as the firm's global financial services practice. Stadtler succeeds James Flanagan who has been elevated to PwC's East Region Vice Chair.
"John has been a valued member of our financial services practice throughout his tenure with PwC," said William Cobourn, PwC's U.S. Vice Chairman, Markets & Sectors. "The deep expertise and vision he brings positions him to guide our clients as well as one of PwC's most important industry practice groups through the ongoing evolution of the financial services industry. We congratulate John on this appointment and know that he and his team will continue to contribute to PwC through maximizing growth, quality and performance for both our clients and the firm."
Stadtler joined PwC in 1988 and has been a partner since 1999. He focuses on a broad spectrum of issues for PwC's banking and investment management clients including assistance with client SEC matters, controls reporting and operational effectiveness. Additionally, Stadtler has advised financial services clients on matters relating to mergers & acquisitions, initial public offerings and has significant experience delivering client service internationally.
"The financial services industry is at a watershed moment as the forces of regulation, innovation, and demographic shifts reshape the operating environment for firms," said Stadtler. "I am excited to embark on this new chapter with PwC at such an important and dynamic juncture for the industry."
Stadtler's leadership extends to the community through his involvement with the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, The New England Council and as the Regional Board Chair for The American Red Cross of Massachusetts. A certified public accountant, Stadtler is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Association of CPAs. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University.
