PwC US Appoints Tom Archer as U.S. Technology Sector Leader

SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that Tom Archer has been named the US Technology Sector Leader for the firm. Archer also currently serves as the Technology Sector Advisory Leader and leads the firm's digital transformation initiative in the US.

In his new role, Archer will build on over 20 years of client service experience and a deep understanding of the technology sector to oversee the firm's team of over 2,700 professionals in the US that provide comprehensive financial, operational, and strategic services to clients across the technology sector. Archer succeeds Rob Gittings, who will be joining the firm's US Leadership Team in New York.

Archer will continue to serve as the overall relationship partner for several technology companies and is responsible for managing all services provided by PwC to those companies. Having spent the last ten years in Silicon Valley, he has led a number of public and venture-backed companies in business transformation initiatives such as business model design and assessment, price modeling and license fulfillment architecture design, merger integration and divestiture management, finance and business process improvement, risk management and auditing and accounting.

Mr. Archer holds a B.S. in Commerce with a concentration in accounting from the University of Virginia and is a Certified Public Accountant in California, Virginia and the District of Columbia. He is involved in a number of organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves on the Boards of the Financial Executives International - Silicon Valley Chapter, Hillbrook School and Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.
