"In today's increasingly risk-averse business environment, organizations -- both large and small -- face genuine threats every day. In the event of a breach, companies must be agile and move quickly to address it, correct it and move past it. Companies who adopt a robust risk management culture and prepare early on will be best suited to deal successfully with a data breach," said Gary Loveland, principal and Leader of PwC's Global Security Practice. "Secure information is power."
The video entitled "Credit cards and security" addresses the inherent risks large organizations face as criminals attempt to steal and monetize their private data. In the video, PwC directors Tomas Castrejon and Pieter Penning are joined by Jim Harvey, partner at Alston & Bird, to discuss the importance of risk management and how companies must strive to adopt a continuous state of compliance to increase the security of sensitive data.
"Every minute of every day, a growing number of well-resourced and highly sophisticated cyber-criminals from around the world are seeking to gain unauthorized access to companies' valuable data," said David Burg, principal and Forensic Technology Solutions Leader at PwC. "Breaches in sensitive data, such as credit card information, pose enormous risks for companies and can cause significant and irreversible damage to a company's reputation and credibility. In our video discussion, the panelists tackle these issues and concerns for companies, underscoring why we help our clients create a culture that embraces compliance in order to protect their data and their customers."
David Nardoni, director at PwC, hosts, "The challenges of mobility," which examines the trend of "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) and the challenges this creates with security mechanisms. Panelists Jim Guinn, managing director at PwC, and Mike Phillips, CISO at CenterPoint Energy, discuss how to implement processes to investigate security risks, and how to properly educate and train users to mitigate these risks.
The video, "Is the cloud safe?," addresses the security concerns associated with moving data into the cloud. PwC's Castrejon speaks with Harshul Joshi, director at PwC and Ralph Pyne, CISO at Zinio, about the assets and infrastructure of cloud services and the cloud security of the service provider.
