DETROIT, Oct. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that its Greater Michigan practice will donate a total of $65,000 to three non-profit organizations, funded through grants from the PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc. PwC's Greater Michigan employees have also continued to show their support of these organizations by investing their time to help further their impact within the local community. PwC employees in Detroit, Grand Rapids and Toledo have donated over 6,000 hours to local charitable organizations in the market last year alone.
The following local organizations have been awarded grants:
- Detroit Parent Network – A non-profit organization aimed at improving parental involvement in childhood education by offering workshops, practical tools, written materials and leadership development.
- The First Tee – The Michigan chapter of the international organization dedicated to providing educational programs that build character, instill values and promote healthy choices for youth through the game of golf.
- Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan – A non-profit youth organization focused on providing critical understanding of financial concepts, a vision of economic opportunity, and a drive to succeed academically.
