PwC Donates $16,000 to Hartford Area Nonprofits

HARTFORD, Conn., March 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US announced today that the Hartford office is donating $16,000 to support the work of three local community agencies. An office advisory committee identified organizations with a focus on children and education and then selected three very worthy local Hartford community agencies to receive the funds.

PwC's donation will be divided among the following three organizations:

The Artists Collective - a cultural center providing area youth training in all areas of the arts.
Covenant Preparatory School - an independent, interfaith, tuition-free middle school for boys from under-served families.
Grace Academy - an independent school dedicated to providing a quality, tuition-free education to girls of all faiths from low-income families.

The partners and staff of PwC made personal donations of over $8,000 at their annual holiday party, which was then matched by the firm to reach the $16,000 total. Office managing partner Keith Hubert noted, "This was the first time we included community giving as part of our holiday event, and we were very pleased at the level of participation by our partners and staff. Including an opportunity to give back to our community made our event more meaningful, as did the performance by Artists Collective -- one of the organizations that we had chosen to support."

These contributions are part of PwC's overall strategy of community giving, which includes gifts of financial support and volunteer time.
