CHICAGO, June 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that Jim Kolar has been appointed as Managing Partner of the professional service firm's Greater Chicago Market. In this role, Kolar will manage more than 2,800 professionals in delivering assurance and audit, tax and consulting services to clients in the firm's Chicago, Des Moines, Milwaukee and Peoria offices. Kolar succeeds Jay Henderson, who has served in this role for the past ten years, in addition to his firm leadership role as Vice Chairman, Client Service.

In his prior role, Kolar led PwC's Minneapolis Market, where he oversaw significant growth in the firm's business over the past six years. He previously served as the Managing Partner in PwC's Orange County office from 2005-2007. He also was recently elected to PwC's US Board of Partners and Principals, where he will serve a four-year term ending in 2017. Kolar joined PwC in 1985 and was admitted to the partnership in 1998. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance in 1985 from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.
Kolar has been an active member of the Minneapolis community, serving on the boards of the Minnesota Business Partnership, the Greater Twin Cities United Way, Treehouse, the Jeremiah Program, St. Thomas Academy and the Catholic Studies Program at the University of St. Thomas.
Henderson will remain in Chicago and continue in his role as Vice Chairman, Client Service for PwC. He is active in various civic leadership activities in Chicago, including serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association, Vice Chairman of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, serving on the Boards of Rush University Medical Center and Museum of Science and Industry, as well as a member of The Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago.
