The private Mooney aircraft crashed in the Houston National forest shortly after takeoff.
The engine caught fire at 100 feet and the pilot was able to get to an altitude of 1,000 feet over the dense forest of Pine trees when it lost all power. There was not enough airspeed or altitude to get back to the airport; so he dove at the trees. A controlled crash is surviveable; but not an uncontrolled crash, such as a spin/ stall accident. After about the fourth tree; the inside wing hit a Big tree with such force that the tail went over the nose and fell 30 feet.
Can you say ENDO at 130 MPH?
The pilot luckily landed on his head.

There is no reason in marketing to not use a good crash to get your brand noticed by more people.
The news is that Purple Stuff sodas only last month released a Cherry~Cola that is Purple in color and beats all other colas in taste, refreshment and nutrition.
Darrell would want you all to know about this drink.
That is why he decided to survive that crash in June of 1993.
What you should learn from this press release?
Expect the unexpected from this company.
Get a good mechanic; as this engine failure could have been averted.
Never ever spin a Mooney at low altitude.
Never spin a Mooney that has no running engine.
Just because he recovered does not mean Darrell could do it 5 times in a row.
The low level acrobatics were awesome but the landing sucked.
If you can afford a jet; buy one as they are more reliable.
Darrell got a type rating for the Cessna Citation after this crash and flew for 13 more years. The largest aircraft he flew was a 737. He was not allowed to log that flight as pilot in command; but did anyways.
All this is true; but nowhere near as amazing as this soda line.

You won't believe what you do not know.
Be authentic.
Be yourself.
Be a Purple Stuff soda drinker.
