Purkeys' Multimeter Training Unit Keeps Students on Their Toes
LOWELL, Ark., May 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Purkeys, a company focused on providing electrical solutions for the heavy-duty trucking industry, has created a training tool that can test students on a variety of scenarios.
Purkeys' Multimeter Training Unit (MTU) allows technicians to hone their skills with a multimeter in a controlled environment before practicing on a vehicle. The MTU has customizable settings that alter the frequency, millivolts, and all of the passive posts.
"This unit is designed to train and test students on their knowledge and functionality of the multimeters we use in this industry," said Trevor Wood, Purkeys sales representative. "The great thing about this particular system is that you are able to change the settings. So you are also able to change the scenario it would be used for."
Beneath the back panel is a set of plugs, or "jumpers," that can be moved to change the value from the front post to the common ground.
"The reason why changing these values is important is because in a training or testing environment students tend to recognize patterns and are able to memorize those results," Wood said. "We want to make sure we keep them on their toes by changing these values regularly."
