PureSense Enters Water Short Southern California and Mexico Markets
Joseph Esquivel Joins PureSense as Territory Manager
FRESNO, Calif., July 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PureSense Environmental Inc. is strengthening its presence in the agriculture-rich Southern California and Mexican markets by bringing its industry-leading irrigation intelligence solutions, services and exceptional support to water-conscious agricultural customers across the Southland and Mexico. Joseph Esquivel, long-time chairman and CEO of Capital Farms, has joined PureSense as Territory Manager for the region.
PureSense is widely known for its innovative and proven remote field-monitoring stations, irrigation management software, mobile applications and customized solutions — trusted by more than 400 growers to help them make better irrigation decisions that improve crop yields and quality and efficiently manage resources. PureSense works directly with growers or can partner with other service companies or large resellers to deliver its products and solutions. Equally important, the company consistently provides personalized training and support through its local network to ensure that growers get maximum benefits out of its business-changing solutions.
"The Southern California and Mexican markets have been important to us for some time," said Chris Berkner, CEO of PureSense. "Joseph is the ideal person to lead our push into the new territory — with well-established relationships with a number of major growers across the Southland and in Mexico. We're excited to bring the dramatic benefits of our state-of-the-art irrigation intelligence technology to more growers in a territory where water is such a precious resource."
Esquivel's grandfather started Capital Farms in 1880 and built it into a major agricultural concern with operations in California and Arizona, as well as in Mexico. After a successful career in pharmaceutical sales, Esquivel was named Capital Farms' chairman and CEO — overseeing the operations of a 1,000-acre ranch growing tomatoes, zucchini, lettuce, cantaloupes, and hay. As a result, he knows first-hand the challenges of investing capital and then betting on nature's elements as well as the tremendous satisfaction that can come at harvest time, and he expects to work closely with growers across Southern California and Mexico to make better decisions that lead to successful returns.
Esquivel is a native of San Diego. He received his degree in business from San Diego State University.
