PureSafety Adopts UL Name
After joining UL in 2011, PureSafety changes its name as final step in linking with UL
FRANKLIN, Tenn., May 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Franklin-based workplace health and safety company, formerly known as PureSafety, has adopted the name of its parent company, UL (Underwriters Laboratories). Now known as UL Workplace Health and Safety, the group's industry leading occupational health and safety solutions strongly complement UL's other safety certification, product testing, and related services.
"UL's safety expertise, global operations and resources are enabling us to serve customers more effectively than ever before," said Bill Grana, formerly president and CEO of PureSafety and now senior vice president of UL. "I am very excited to continue my leadership of the business under the UL brand and as an integral part of one of the most recognized safety companies in the world."
UL purchased PureSafety in December 2011 as a way to further reinforce its mission of promoting safe living and working environments for people. Founded in 1894, UL is a global independent safety science company that has innovated safety solutions in areas including sustainability, renewable energy and nanotechnology.
UL Workplace Health and Safety will continue to offer its software platforms and training courseware under the same brands as it did as PureSafety, with one exception. The safety management system formerly called Learning and Safety Management System (LSMS) will be given the name PureSafety as a means of carrying forward the legacy company name and leveraging its brand equity. The product names SYSTOC®, Occupational Health Manager® (OHM) and PureSafety On Demand will continue to be used as before.
"For years, PureSafety has been well known for its LSMS product, so it is fitting that the product will now carry on the PureSafety name," said Grana. "Regardless of name or product, we will continue to deliver to customers the high level of commitment and service that has come to be expected from us and all of UL."
In addition to its primary offices in Franklin, UL Workplace Health and Safety has operations in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Skowhegan, Maine. More information is available at ULWorkplace.com.
