MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Pure Storage, the leading independent solid-state array vendor, today announced that its FlashArray 400 Series is now certified by SAP as an enterprise storage solution for the SAP HANA® platform. The certification offers customers accelerated performance with the resiliency and management simplicity required for environments running SAP HANA. In addition, the certification enables Pure Storage to participate in SAP's program for SAP HANA tailored data center integration using its certified solution. Through participation in the program, customers can leverage their existing hardware and infrastructure components for their SAP HANA–based environments, providing further choice for organizations even when working in heterogeneous environments.
"SAP HANA is seeing rapid adoption among customers looking to handle both high transaction rates and complex query processing on the same platform," said Eric Burgener, Research Director, IDC. "Performance is critical in these environments, and SAP-certified solutions like Pure Storage give customers the option to deploy high performance flash arrays with confidence."
SAP HANA combines database, data processing and application platform capabilities in-memory. The platform provides libraries for predictive, planning, text processing, spatial and business analytics. By providing advanced capabilities such as predictive text analytics, spatial processing and data virtualization on the same architecture, it further simplifies application development and processing across big-data sources and structures. This makes SAP HANA a highly suitable platform for building and deploying next-generation, real-time applications and analytics. The use of Pure Storage's FlashArray and SAP HANA allows customers to fully utilize the advanced capabilities of the SAP HANA platform. Pure Storage will continue to work with the SAP team on solutions that support key customer use cases. In fact, the targeted enablement workshops and technical consulting delivered by the SAP HANA Partner Engineering Team helped accelerate preparation for certification.
"Enterprise data center architecture is evolving to take advantage of the unprecedented capabilities of modern data management platforms, like SAP HANA," said Matt Kixmoeller, Vice President of Products, Pure Storage. "Building for the Internet of Things, leveraging big data-driven initiatives, and making sense of real-time analytics are just a few of the projects our customers are driving. When run on flash, not only can projects like this lead to IT transformation, they result in business transformation – a smarter business, a faster business and new innovations previously not possible."
