Season two features a series of changes that promise to deliver an even more compelling, must-see season. As in season one, "Transformacion Total" will place 18 contestants from all regions of Puerto Rico together in a house for 15 weeks, where they will work with a group of professionals as they take important steps toward adopting a new, healthy lifestyle.
For the first time, contestants will be followed 24 hours a day by cameras to capture the emotion, excitement and drama that go into their effort to transform their lives. While living in the house, the contestants will take part in physical training and motivational seminars, while receiving nutritional counseling and psychological therapy as they work to adopt healthy lifestyle habits.
Season one brought about significant changes in the contestants' lives, with the final five contestants losing 420 pounds collectively. The two finalists from season one will serve as group leaders in season two.
Puerto Rican actress Katiria Soto will host the competition, which will be based on a point system that takes into account not only the contestants' weight loss, but healthy lifestyle transformation, participation in the different challenges, ability to live together in the house, and performance in the Final Challenge. The show's grand prize winner will receive $50,000 in cash, in addition to other prizes.
The new season will feature a panel of celebrity judges, including renowned merengue singer Melina Leon, Puerto Rican actor Lorenzo Orozco and life coach Sara Pastor, who will evaluate the contestants' daily progress and will be responsible for choosing the grand prize winner.
"Viewers can expect much more excitement in season two, as cameras follow the contestants' every move and portray the human drama and interaction among the competitors," said Jose Ramos, President of WAPA Television. "As the leading broadcast station in Puerto Rico, we are proud to deliver an innovative program that touches lives and that Puerto Rican and U.S.-based viewers can relate to. This is sure to be the most exciting reality show Puerto Rico has ever seen."
"Transformacion Total" will have the support of important Puerto Rico-based sponsors, including Walgreens, Pfizer, Triple S, Goya, Subway, Supermercados Amigo and Carbotrap.
Season two of "Transformacion Total" will premiere on Saturday, January 29, at 8:00 p.m. ET on WAPA America.
