Hotels and Airport Open, 800 Number Operational for Tourist Assistance
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Aug. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Puerto Rico Tourism Company released the following information for tourists currently in Puerto Rico or those planning to come to Puerto Rico. Hurricane Irene passed through the Island in the early morning hours of August 22 and was moving away from Puerto Rico as of 8:00 a.m. ET.
All tourist information centers on the Island are available on a 24-hour-a-day basis to offer support to tourists. Tourists needing assistance can also call the tourism service line:

All hotels are operating as normal although tourists were evacuated from the islands of Culebra and Vieques as a precaution.
Luis Munoz Marin International Airport is open and flights are expected to resume at some point after 12:00 p.m. ET today. We recommend that arriving and departing passengers call their airline regarding any changes, delays or cancellations.
