800 Number Activated for Tourist Assistance
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Aug. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Puerto Rico Tourism Company released the following information for tourists currently in Puerto Rico or those planning to come to Puerto Rico, as the Island is currently under a Tropical Storm warning due to the passing through of Tropical Storm Irene.
All tourist information centers on the Island will be available on a 24-hour-a-day basis to offer support to tourists. Tourists needing assistance should call the tourism service line: 1 (800) 981-7575.
All hotels are operating as normal but have activated their contingency plans to protect guests and employees.
Although Luis Munoz Marin International Airport is open, airlines have cancelled flights as a preventive measure. We recommend that arriving and departing passengers call their airline regarding any changes, delays or cancellations.
We encourage visitors to Puerto Rico to monitor developments by listening to the official bulletins from the National Weather Service and the warnings and recommendations of the Emergency Management State Agency and other government agencies.
