PUCO Chairman Announced as Keynote Speaker at First Statewide Advanced Energy Conference
Todd Snitchler to address growth opportunities emerging from Ohio's electrical systems and advanced energy economy
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NorTech and Advanced Energy Economy Ohio today announced Todd A. Snitchler, chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), as a keynote speaker at the first statewide Advanced Energy B2B Conference & Expo®, being held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus on October 30-31.
Chairman Snitchler will speak at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31. His presentation comes at a time of unprecedented advanced energy development and opportunity in Ohio, as well as the ongoing challenges facing our current electricity systems infrastructure. Snitchler will address the challenges and opportunities that will impact Ohio's businesses and supply chain companies, and the PUCO's role in fostering a strong energy economy across the state. Given the event's focus on the development of commercial opportunities in advanced energy, the Chairman's perspective will be particularly relevant to companies, researchers and supply chain manufacturers from across the state of Ohio.
Chairman Todd Snitchler was appointed to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio by Governor John Kasich in March 2011. As chairman of the PUCO, Snitchler is the head of a 350-person agency that works to oversee the regulation of electric, natural gas, telecommunications, water and commercial transportation in the state of Ohio.
The two-day Advanced Energy B2B Conference and Expo will provide a statewide forum for addressing topics such as energy efficiency, advanced energy supply chain opportunities, the shale gas boom, downstream benefits for the state's chemical and polymer companies, and public policy issues – all designed to highlight and accelerate the new energy economy in Ohio. The program also includes an industry track (waste & biomass to energy, energy storage, fuel cells, smart grid, and solar), and a Technology Showcase with dozens of presentations featuring entrepreneurs, companies and researchers seeking collaborators, partners and funding.
Advanced Energy B2B will feature a robust exhibition hall with innovative companies, research institutions and supply chain providers showcasing their advanced energy technologies and products. Advanced conference registration ends October 30. An additional $100 fee will be charged for registration at the door. The deadline to secure exhibit space is October 10.
