Publishing Industry Entrepreneur Lisa Holton Named Vice President of Content Development at Callaway Digital Arts
Entrepreneur and Veteran Publishing Executive Brings Distinguished Background that Includes Scholastic, Disney and HarperCollins to Callaway Digital Arts' Expanding Management Team
NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Callaway Digital Arts, Inc. (www.callaway.com), developer of interactive mobile applications for children and families, has expanded its management team with key content and engineering executives, including publishing veteran Lisa Holton, who has been named Vice President of Content Development. Additional appointments include Executive Producer Caryl Shaw and Vice President of Engineering Joe Ghazal.

Lisa Holton is a veteran publishing executive and a noted authority on the intersection of emerging digital media and children's publishing. As Vice President of Content Development she will also serve as Executive Producer for Callaway's efforts with the Learning Applications Media Partnership (Project L.A.M.P.), a project funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Holton's most recent executive post was as President for Scholastic Trade Publishing, where she managed the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling. She also held management positions at Disney Global Children's Books and HarperCollins. As an entrepreneur, she has developed digital projects that include interactive web sites and mobile apps.
Executive Producer Caryl Shaw brings more than 16 years of web and video game production experience to Callaway and will lead the conceptual, design and "live" update efforts on Callaway's catalog of children's and lifestyle applications. Previously she served as an Executive Producer at leading mobile developer ngmoco:) and as a Senior Producer at Electronic Arts/Maxis Studio where she worked on blockbuster titles including Spore, The Sims and The Sims 2.
VP of Engineering Joe Ghazal brings more than 17 years of software engineering, engineering management, and product development experience. Previously, Joe served as COO and VP of Engineering of Kontiki, a cloud-based provider of enterprise video communication. He has also held management positions at Aggregate Knowledge and Motricity, a mobile solutions company, where his team developed the platform that powered content downloads for AT&T Wireless, as well as global media brands such as MTV and Universal Music.
