Publisher Ad Tech Veteran Jean-Christophe Conti Joins AppNexus To Run EMEA Publisher Sales
LONDON, Dec. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AppNexus, the world's largest independent ad tech company, announced today that Jean-Christophe Conti, a well-known and highly respected European ad tech veteran, has joined AppNexus to run publisher sales in EMEA. As a long-time Yahoo and Right Media executive, Conti offers a wealth of experience to AppNexus as it builds out its world-class offering to publishers and continues rapid global expansion.
Ryan Christensen, GM, Publishers said, "AppNexus is making a substantial, multi-year investment in the global publisher ad technology market, including the acquisition of the Open Ad Stream® premium publisher ad server, major upgrades to our Deals and Packages capabilities, and the creation of a dedicated Publishers business unit. JC's experience will be an incredible asset to AppNexus in Europe and to the publisher clients we service."
Conti has been Vice President and Head of Partnerships Group at Yahoo since 2009 and he was in charge of all partnerships, both desktop and mobile, in EMEA for the Yahoo Display Ad Network, Yahoo Search Affiliate Network, and Right Media Platform & Exchange.
Prior to that, he was Vice President and Head of Publisher Group for Yahoo! - Europe from 2008-2010, responsible for building the Yahoo! Ad Network in Europe. He has held various other executive positions in Yahoo! Search Marketing and also served as a Marketing Director at Wanadoo France.
"I am extremely excited to be joining AppNexus at a time when the company has emerged as a leader in the publisher market in EMEA," said JC Conti, VP, Publisher Sales, EMEA. "AppNexus provides not only the most powerful ad tech stack in the industry, but it's also not associated with any media business, and therefore doesn't compete with publishers striving to grow their own ad revenue."
AppNexus already counts many distinguished publishers among its client-base in Europe including Audience Square's coalition of publishers; Interactive Media; MailOnline; Orange; Schibsted and United Internet. Year-over-year growth in AppNexus's publisher business in EMEA will be more than 40 percent by the end of 2014.
IAB Europe valued programmatic revenue for publishers at €2.1 Bn in 2013, an increase of 111 percent over 2012, and reports that the programmatic market is growing rapidly across Europe.
