Public Support of Tea Party Rises Nationally in August
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PJTV's Tea Party TV today unveiled the results of its weekly Tea Party tracking poll, which revealed that the number of Tea Party members who support the movement publicly has risen from 34 percent on August 8 to 41 percent during the most recent survey on September 5.
"We are starting to see an interesting trend emerging from the PJTV tracking poll," said Vik Rubenfeld, PJTV's Polling Director. "The number of Tea Party supporters who are willing to endorse the movement publicly has jumped seven points in one month, steadily rising from 34 to 41 percent. Meanwhile, overall support for the Tea Party remains stable among likely voters."
The weekly PJTV/Pulse Opinion Research nationwide survey of 1,000 likely voters tracks Tea Party support as well as provides a snapshot of public opinion regarding the week's top issues. In addition to the regular Tea Party tracking questions, respondents were asked if they expect the taxes paid by the next generation to decrease, stay the same, or increase by 10, 20 or 30 percent. Approximately two-thirds of those surveyed responded that they expect taxes to increase by some margin if federal policies continued, while 21 percent anticipate an increase of 30 percent or more.
