More than 1,000 people registered for the "Redesigning Detroit: A New Vision for an Iconic Site" design competition generating nearly 200 creative submissions from 22 U.S. states and 22 countries, featuring new development ideas for the vacant 92,421 square-foot parcel, the site of the old Hudson's Department Store, built in 1911. |

To spark community involvement, conversation and ideas for the redevelopment of one of the city's most beloved and iconic sites, the site of the old Hudson's Department Store, bordered by Woodward, Library, Grand River and Gratiot. |

The public can attend, view and vote on their favorite designs. Top public vote getters will win: $2,500; $1,000 and $500 for first, second and third prizes respectively. Winners for the official judging will receive $15,000, $5,000 and $2,500 for first, second and third prizes. Winners in both categories are scheduled to be announced online and to media on Tuesday, June 11th. |
