PT Introduces LTE and WiMAX Application-Ready Systems
CommAgility Partners to Present Wireless OEMs an Ideal Development Platform
BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PT (Nasdaq: PTIX), a leading global provider of advanced network communications solutions, today announced the introduction of the AMP5072 1U MicroTCA® Application-Ready System. The AMP5072 is specifically designed for LTE and WiMAX equipment manufacturers, and features Serial RapidIO® fabric with System Timing Module for wireless base station synchronization. These systems integrate all the hardware components, Operating System, and software protocols, and are ideal for wireless application development.
PT is the leader in Application-Ready Systems consisting of tightly integrated hardware and software. The company's comprehensive solutions provide every key component except the application itself. In fact, no other vendor provides its own Carrier Grade Linux® (NexusWare®) with wireless protocols and software, integrated in a rugged, standards-based platform. The solution has already been chosen by Harris-Stratex, now known as Aviat, who use the IPnexus® Application-Ready Systems in a WiMAX ASN Gateway application.
PT's cost-effective, high performance, small footprint, 1U MicroTCA platforms are highly tuned for wireless applications such as LTE eNodeB and EPC solutions, as well as WiMAX base station and ASN/CSN solutions. "LTE and WiMAX Base stations are expected to grow profoundly in number over the next few years," said Edward Young, Managing Director at CommAgility. "The CommAgility Digital Baseband AMCs, integrated with PT's Application-Ready Systems, provide a top performance, highly flexible and cost effective platform that allows equipment manufacturers to rapidly deliver solutions to market."
John Grana, PT's Senior Vice President of Product and Technology commented, "At PT, we've always prided ourselves on anticipating market requirements and providing our customers what they need to meet those demands. In essence, we must stay not one, but two steps ahead in our technology innovations. We are gratified to see such immediate acceptance of our LTE and WiMAX Application-Ready Systems."
More information on PT's AMP5072 1U MicroTCA Application-Ready Systems is available on their Stand #2G39 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 15-18, 2010.
