PSE&G Opens Mobile Customer Service Centers in Flood-Ravaged Communities
Resources and assistance available to customers attempting to get back into their homes
NEWARK, N.J., Sept. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PSE&G has opened mobile customer service centers in communities ravaged from the flooding caused by Hurricane Irene. Nine service centers are operating now, and additional centers will be open over the next few days.
At the centers customers can receive information and ask questions about how to have gas service restored to their homes and businesses. Payment assistance information will be distributed as well as information on available community resources.
The utility has sufficient gas meters available at mobile gas command centers around the state that will be installed for customers as soon as safety inspections have been completed by municipal officials. Crews from out-of-state gas utilities are assisting with the restoration effort.
PSE&G estimates that 28,700 gas customers have been impacted by the severe flooding.
Locations of mobile customer service centers open today and through the weekend from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. include:

Additional centers to be opened:
- Paterson A center at Haledon Avenue and East Main Street in Paterson will be operational on Saturday.
- Wayne Additional centers will be opened on Sunday when flood waters recede.
