NEW YORK, July 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Pryor Cashman is pleased to announce that Todd B. Marcus has joined the firm as a partner in its nationally-recognized Real Estate and Commercial Litigation Groups. Based in New York, Marcus brings more than 28 years of experience representing clients in complex real estate and commercial litigation disputes. He joins the firm from Sidley Austin LLP, where he was a partner.
"The midsize firm model, which offers high quality representation on a value-driven platform, is increasingly a choice of clients and BigLaw partners alike. Todd's impressive credentials are the perfect complement to our already strong team of litigators and will help us continue to provide the high quality service our clients have come to expect," said Ronald H. Shechtman, Pryor Cashman's managing partner.
Marcus's extensive real estate experience includes representing parties in disputes concerning the ownership, financing and leasing of real property, partnership and joint venture disputes, as well as contentious mortgage foreclosures and real estate brokerage and contract disputes. In these areas, he represents financial institutions, real estate investors and owners, landlords, tenants and real estate funds, among others.
"Complex disputes are a fact of life in the real estate industry, and a wide array of high-profile parties turn to our experienced Real Estate Litigation Group for sophisticated guidance on the critical matters impacting their properties across the U.S. and internationally. Adding Todd's skillset furthers our ability to deliver premier services to our clients in all phases of their businesses. We are thrilled to welcome him to the firm," said Todd Soloway, Chair of the firm's Real Estate Litigation Group.
In addition to his work in real estate, Marcus also litigates a wide range of commercial matters, including cases involving financial instruments, consumer rights, creditors' rights, lender liability and other business disputes.
"Pryor Cashman has a stellar reputation in New York and nationally as a leading firm with exceptional lawyers. I've sat across the table and served as co-counsel with members of the firm on many occasions, and am thrilled now to be on the same team," said Marcus.
Marcus received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and his B.S. in electrical engineering from Lafayette College.
