WHIPPANY, N.J., Jan. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Bayer has earned top honors on PRWeek's 2018 "Best Places to Work" list.
The honor – a first for Bayer – takes into consideration employee feedback and input from a panel of judges. The list identifies companies with a strong workplace culture, competitive salary and other incentives, and an overall positive social impact.
Notably, the recognition follows a year of important changes for the company, including the acquisition of agricultural leader Monsanto. Judges at PRWeek pointed to the honor as evidence that Bayer has maintained its strong reputation with employees throughout its monumental transformation.
"To be included on the PRWeek 'Best Places to Work' list is an incredible honor – one in which every member of the Bayer team can be extremely proud," said Raymond F. Kerins, Jr., Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Bayer U.S. "The fact that this recognition comes at a very important juncture of Bayer's history makes this an even more significant achievement.
"Making this list is an amazing testament to the strong professional spirit, teamwork and results-driven assertiveness of our people – our most important asset."
Among the policies applauded by team members and PRWeek was the company's emphasis on work/life balance through its flexible and remote working hours. Employees also noted the company's health-oriented initiatives, including free gym membership and meditation spaces at the company's U.S. headquarters. Excellent 401(k) matching, an employee discount program for company products, and training opportunities also made the list of aspects most appreciated by team members at Bayer.
The company's strong involvement in charity was also noted by employees and PRWeek. The company has a policy of allowing every U.S. employee two paid days off to volunteer at an organization of their choice. Additionally, the company expanded its Community Service Day throughout the United States to extend its commitment to supporting the communities in which employees work and live.
"With a very high level of satisfaction about the way they are treated, the employees at Bayer are also very proud of the charitable and social impact work performed by the company," noted one PRWeek judge.
Bayer will be featured along with the rest of the winners in an article in the January/February print issue of PRWeek.
