NORCROSS, Ga., Aug. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- PruittHealth announced today that the Georgia Health Care Association recently honored three of its professionals for their efforts to help Georgians receive better long-term and post-acute health care. The fourth annual GHCA Leadership Excellence Awards were presented at the association's summer conference by Jon S. Howell, President and CEO of the Georgia Health Care Association and William C. Davis, Chair of the GHCA Board of Directors.
George Hunt, Chief Human Resource Officer at PruittHealth in Norcross, received the GHCA Leadership Excellence Award. This honor recognizes an individual who has provided leadership that is worthy of statewide recognition, including a commitment to quality, stewardship, and integrity. Hunt, who has worked in long-term care for 43 years, oversees Human Resources for 16,000 partners employed by PruittHealth. He serves on the American Health Care Association's Workforce Committee that is researching ways to address the rapid turnover in long-term care throughout the country.
Also recognized were award finalists Carol Wellman, Administrator at Laurel Park, and Mae Phillips, DHS at PruittHealth – Bethany.
